Primary and antidotes for political self

Intervention published in "Il Tirreno" October 2007

primary, primary, no. The Democratic Party is already born and surprised us. I was among those contributing in my small way in this process for some time, has criticized certain methods cooptativi in the composition of the lists and, sometimes, a certain spirit orders that often arises in this complex phase of the constitution of a new party. But inevitably some of the results of the method, which can be defined as the patrimony of the entire policy and not just a party, have already made some important signal and that in many, including myself, did not expect.
I am referring to the fact that some lists created as interpreted and "institutional" that is, where were present several important elements of various local establishment (mayors and local administrators in the first place), have lost support in an overall positive for the ways and issues of voter participation. Look at ', the "people" have voted at the same time a secretary and expressed an opinion on local government. Because like it or not this has happened and we must take note of it without hiding behind the alleged errors and misunderstandings of logos on the cards, because they may offend the intelligence of everyone who came out to vote.
So, amid all the countless in-depth analysis you are doing, I think it's important not to lose Having regard to the substance of what happened. The problem is that to stay the course and not to disappoint the expectations of those who voted gave confidence to this great change. In this light, a long time, is the participation of persons giving information to the policy and certainly the instrument and the method of the primary, although improvements in some aspects, is a point of no return.
do not understand, frankly, how we can put the slightest doubt that now that the PD is born you should not proceed to use the approach of starting with the primary local administrative elections at least for the choice of mayor.
The past is history, finished. And with these primary must understand that it is Gone are the cryptic language and returns through the phase of the constitution, to give real value to the policies. It also must end the era of "automatism" of the mandate and charge and that those who are called to lead a city or going to do the secretary of the PD at the local level, will be chosen by all voters and party supporters, not by the so-called "oligarchs." We did it for the secretary of national and regional ones, because we can not do it locally? The debate is open, the constituent phase has begun, the confidence of those who voted not to be betrayed. We all do is to monitor and contribute proactive in this work, in the interest of the entire political community. Daniel

How Long Does Weave Stay In Hair

Civilization, legality and participation

Intervention published in "Il Tirreno, Livorno in October 2007.

civilization, law and participation. Three words that have been together if only because it marked the city's events this summer. Once again many of the problems raised, even very serious, and unfortunately, against a disturbing perception of inadequacy in the quality of policy and manner of responses.
This raises the question say "quality of governance" which translated means to understand in what spirit, with reference to such values and how design capability acts who have the task of translating policy into concrete actions.
Civilization. The first reference that comes to mind first is the plight of Roma children and makes me ask a simple question that with all due respect, the blog opened by the mayor with little response. What is the social project realistically projected on a medium to long term in which all the problems of an entire city community (and the chapter rom is only a part) can be as much as possible, converted into value and opportunity for all? May not be able to trigger a serious debate and really extended to all citizens (and not only to operators) about the quality and results of social policy in our country?
Legality. I get to mind the episode of the famous paintings found in the headquarters of the Port of Livorno in 2000 and the rest of the vicissitudes that have involved the same company in recent months, as indicated. Why, given the strategic importance of such a company and having regard to serious allegations, will not trigger a wider debate on the levels of legality and transparency with respect to economic and productive areas critical to Livorno? Again the policy where it is and what it offers with seriousness and competence, at least to clean up and bring a high level of perceived legality?
And finally, of course, participation. And here I am thinking Democratic Party primary, another great event. It 'came as a great opportunity to participate and many citizens, including myself, just saw it and were prepared for this path associated with informal and started over a year ago. Although it was known that the lists that will be voted on Oct. 14 will be "blocked" (ie no possibility of preferential voting on individual candidates), we imagined that at least we managed to create a dynamic high local input regarding the formation of names to be included, as I have heard that in other cities has occurred. Little or nothing of this, we largely was done to build the lists for co-optation between friendships and personal contacts and in substance in the first few established names and candidates that will remain "fixed". So what? I trust, nevertheless, I have not lost and I'm going to vote. But I wonder whether perhaps some old policy that has totally lost confidence in the people and yet so afraid to confront new modes participate. Dear Bishop
Ablondi you terribly right. Livorno We have to give a loose and it must be done with courage, responsibility and intellectual honesty by all, at any cost.
