civilization, law and participation. Three words that have been together if only because it marked the city's events this summer. Once again many of the problems raised, even very serious, and unfortunately, against a disturbing perception of inadequacy in the quality of policy and manner of responses.
This raises the question say "quality of governance" which translated means to understand in what spirit, with reference to such values \u200b\u200band how design capability acts who have the task of translating policy into concrete actions.
Civilization. The first reference that comes to mind first is the plight of Roma children and makes me ask a simple question that with all due respect, the blog opened by the mayor with little response. What is the social project realistically projected on a medium to long term in which all the problems of an entire city community (and the chapter rom is only a part) can be as much as possible, converted into value and opportunity for all? May not be able to trigger a serious debate and really extended to all citizens (and not only to operators) about the quality and results of social policy in our country?
Legality. I get to mind the episode of the famous paintings found in the headquarters of the Port of Livorno in 2000 and the rest of the vicissitudes that have involved the same company in recent months, as indicated. Why, given the strategic importance of such a company and having regard to serious allegations, will not trigger a wider debate on the levels of legality and transparency with respect to economic and productive areas critical to Livorno? Again the policy where it is and what it offers with seriousness and competence, at least to clean up and bring a high level of perceived legality?
And finally, of course, participation. And here I am thinking Democratic Party primary, another great event. It 'came as a great opportunity to participate and many citizens, including myself, just saw it and were prepared for this path associated with informal and started over a year ago. Although it was known that the lists that will be voted on Oct. 14 will be "blocked" (ie no possibility of preferential voting on individual candidates), we imagined that at least we managed to create a dynamic high local input regarding the formation of names to be included, as I have heard that in other cities has occurred. Little or nothing of this, we largely was done to build the lists for co-optation between friendships and personal contacts and in substance in the first few established names and candidates that will remain "fixed". So what? I trust, nevertheless, I have not lost and I'm going to vote. But I wonder whether perhaps some old policy that has totally lost confidence in the people and yet so afraid to confront new modes participate. Dear Bishop
Ablondi you terribly right. Livorno We have to give a loose and it must be done with courage, responsibility and intellectual honesty by all, at any cost.
